- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students will be able to:
reproduce by heart nominal and verbal paradigms studied in the course (see syllabus of the course);
explain grammatical rules studied in the course;
translate a simple coherent Latin text into Czech. - Syllabus
- This course provides an overview of the following grammatical categories:
- Morphology: gerund and gerundive;
- participles;
- supine.
- Syntax: independent uses of the subjunctive mood,
- consecutive clauses;
- participle constructions;
- periphrastic conjugation;
- ablative absolute;
- uses of nominative in subordinate clauses;
- gerundive constructions.

- Teaching methods
- Planned learning activities and teaching methods consist of lectures, practice (translation and grammar exercises). Regular class attendance and preparatory homeworks are required.
- Assessment methods
- Requirements for credit: regular class attendance (75%) and passing of the written test which examines the knowledge of grammar studied during the course. For a graded evaluation, additional oral examination is required.
