- Course objectives
- The aim of this course is to provide Latinists with a reasonably comprehensive introduction to inscriptional Latin particularly concerning the interpretation of misspellings and other, e.g. metrical faults to be found in inscriptions. Accordingly not only various kinds and causes of misspellings but also errors of versification along with their underlying linguistic changes will be discussed and highlighted by selected Latin inscriptions of the imperial age.

- Capacity to recognize and interpet misspellings and other faults present in latin inscriptions of the imperial Age.

- Apart from regular attendance course requirements will include preparation of two homeworks (Transcriptions of texts of selected misspelt inscriptions based on their drawings or photos).
