Course objectives
This course is primarily aimed at students of General linguistics and Baltistics. At the end of this course students will be able to read simple texts in Macedonian Cyrillic, discuse them and talk about simple topics. They will be able to clasify grammar features in texts.
Syllabus
  • Grammar:
  • 1. Clasifying of Macedonian language as South-Slavic and Balkan languages, Macedonian Cyrillic, simple phrases
  • 2. Pronouns and questions, dialogues, verbs "to be" and "to have", accent
  • 3. Verbs in present, da-construction, numbers
  • 4. Plural and article, adjectives
  • 5. Revision and test
  • 6. Future tense and imperative
  • 7. Possessive pronouns and clitics
  • 8. Aorist and imperfect
  • 9. Reading comprehension, clasifying of grammar features, questions
  • 10. Writing simple texts
  • Recomended texts for reading and practice, simple presentation and listening comprehension.
  • Topics:
  • Family, greetings, states, dialogues on buses/trains/aeroplanes, months and days, cities and villages, culture in the Balkans, Macedonian songs
