- Course objectives
- At the end of the course, students should be able to explain the development of medieval Latin literature to the 11th century; to name and arrange in a chronological order the main authors of medieval Latin prose and poetry; to describe their work and its importance; to interpret the most important writings of the period.

- 3) Preconditions of literary development in the late Roman period
- 4) Overview of Latin patristics
- 5) The so-called interim period in different parts of Europe
- 6) 9th-10th century - Carolingian and Ottonian Renaissance
- 7) 11th century - the beginnings of golden age of medieval Latin literature
