- Course objectives
- Ability to detect in the text specific manifestations of Quebec culture and Quebec French, so that they can be adequately translated into Czech.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course students will be able to :
- identify language and cultural specificity of Quebec French
- identify Quebec French styles
- translate from Quebec French into Czech adeqately - Syllabus
- 1. Translations from the French-Canadian literature into Czech: historical overview. 2. Translating cultural realities. 3. French language standards in Canada and Canadian French translation into Czech. 4. Seminar work - translations.
