- Course objectives
- The course aims to acquaint students with the Polish literature on the Holocaust and Nazi concentration camps.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, students will be able:
to characterize content and form of the Polish literature on the Holocaust and concentration camps;
to put this literary production into a wider literary, cultural and historical context. - Syllabus
- 1. Characteristics of the literature on the Holocaust and concentration camps – the development of this literature and its reception, general features and specific cases
- 2. A brief introduction to the history of concentration camps, especially the Auschwitz-Brezinka camp
- 3. Sociological and psychological view of the concentration camp
- 4. Analysis and reading of selected texts
