Course objectives
In the course short primary texts on cultural theory are read and discussed. It will be about texts that represent the most influential approaches to literature and culture in the 20th c. and 21st c., such as psychoanalysis, discourse analysis, post-colonialism, etc.
During the course the participants will acquire training in dealing with basic texts of theory of culture. They will be able to deduce the most important concepts and statements of these texts. We will also discuss extracts of literary texts which can serve as case studies falsifying approaches suggested in theory.
