- Course objectives
- The course is focused on reading and interpreting of Finnish texts.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course students should be able to read texts meant for didactic purposes, translate them adequatly, interpret unknown frasis and derivates just according to their roots and primar meaning, construct basic forms and compare elements of the two language systems.
- Syllabus
- The texts are supposed to be chosen according to their language, content and (inter-)cultural significance. Some texts the course works with have been translated to Czech (thus students may compare their own translations with those of professional translators and become aqcuainted with basic translation criticism and theory terms).
