Course objectives
The course is dealing with methods of cognitive sciences applied on theatrology. Students guided by a teacher are learning to apply methods of cognitive theatrology on concrete material such as dramatic text, theatre performance a it's documentation.

The course is inteded for master's students of DTS and it is mandatory for them.
The course is held in Czech.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course student will be able to:
- understand key terms of cognitive theatrology;
- explain terms: conceptual metaphor, conceptual integration, multimodal metaphor, audio-visual metaphor, mirror neurons, shared space etc.
- interpret theatrological problems by chosen methods of cognitive sciences.

  • 1. Introduction to cognitive sciences, assigning of seminar tasks
  • 2. Analytic methods of cognitive sciences apllied on theatrology
  • 3. Cognitive linguistics and cognitive poetics
  • 4. Cognitive theatrology - basis, methods, current state of the field
  • 5. Theory of conceptual metaphor and theory of conceptual integration
  • 6. Multimodal netaphor
  • 7. Mirror neurons and other concepts of cognitive theatrology (for example theory of shared space)
  • 8. Theory of audio-visual metaphor by K. Fahlenbrach
  • 9. - 12. Presentations of first outcomes of seminar tasks, comments from teacher, discussion
