Course objectives
The aim of the course is to deepen the knowledge of Italian and to develop the vocabulary and communicative competence (level A2/B1 CEFR).
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students should be able to:
- understand explained vocabulary,
- use the vocabulary in spoken and written language,
- explain and apply grammar discussed in seminars,
- understand more difficult texts and to translate them into czech and vice versa.
Syllabus
  • 1. Telling a past event. Present perfect.
  • 2. The present perfect of irregular verbs. The indication of the subject.
  • 3. Pronunciation exercises on palatal consonants. Decription of an external space.
  • 4. The intonation. Description of an interior space.
  • 5. The form of the gerund. Phone calls.
  • 6. The construction of "stare" + gerund. The expression fo moods and emotions.
  • 7. The formation of the imperfect. Description of a situation in the past.
  • 8. The formation of the perfect past tense. How to present different situations from the past.
  • 9. The consecutio temporum. How to put a past event in its context.
  • 10. The invariable relative pronoun "che". Different ways of correlating sentences.
  • 11. The formation of the simple future. How to present dreams and desires projected into the future.
  • 12. The formation of the anterior future. Making articulated projects and programs for the future.

Teaching methods
Lectures and excercises.
The course involves regular grammatical, lexical and phraseological excercises, listening and speaking excercises.
Assessment methods
The student has to deliver 3 essays in Italian and 3 traductions during the semester.
Attendance and participation in the course is required.
Credit: after completing all written assignments and after regular attendance.
