- Course objectives
- The course Basics of heuristics introduces the organization and research problems of work with music sources as one of the main fields of musicological activities. The students should acquire basic information about the organization of care about music sources and the techniques of work with sources.
- Syllabus
- Topic circles: 1. Music archives as a institutional unit - an introduction to organization problems of music archives 2. Music sources - their classification and evaluation 3. Problems of scientific catalogization of music material (note materials, literary texts, iconographical materials etc.) 4. Bibliography and lexicography as a field of scientific documentation 5. Problems of editing work 6. Preparation and edition from original music sources 7. Computers in music archives
