Course objectives
The seminary is based on the contemporary genelogical system. It wants to present the most important literary genres from the point of view synchronical and diachronical. It takes to indicate the main tendencies of the development and the place of the eminent literary creators in the 16th century. It notices also the genres which are marginal, neverthless typical of their period. The lecture will try to appreciate the importance of the period and it will define the way it influenced next development.

  • - the general characterization of the epoch, culture and level of education
  • - periodization. the evaluation of literature, professional literature
  • - the character of the contemporary genelogical system, the main and marginal genres, the connection with the preceding development
  • - "information explosion" and its manifestation in the scientific literature
  • - "theatrum" as the encyclopaedia of the world and man
  • - travel book and its types
  • - Renaissance literary album as the image of the Renaissance man
  • - the entertaining prose and its reader
  • - the ethical prose and its types
  • - the theatre, dramatic works
  • - contemporary polemic, religious and political
  • - the typography and its culture importance
  • - the ways leading to the Baroque
