- Course objectives
- The course follows basic moments of the development of religious thought in China from the first religion of ancestors up to the position of religion in the time of Maoism. Attention is devoted especially to fundamental concepts of Chinese religious thinking and to their development within Taoism, Confucianism, Buddhism and folk religion. Part of the course is an overview of Chinese mythology and pantheon. Basic overview of religious traditions in Japan is also offered.
