Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide students with the rudiments of Latin grammar system. The main emphasis will be on the general idea of the system functioning as well as on the understanding of the functions of individual grammatical categories and their terminology. Students will master common forms of nouns and verbs, and the principles of their forming. Attention will also be paid to the most frequent syntactic features. As regards Latin lexis, students will be taught the most frequently used word roots, out of which many can be found in modern languages.
