- Course objectives
- The main aim of the course is to make students acquainted with the beginning of postmodern culture in Czech art. Students will be prepared for understanding of contemporary art.
- Syllabus
- 1. Situation of Czech art in the 60s and 70s.; 2. Oficial and alternative culture.; 3. Specific position of postmodernism in Czech art after 1968.; 4.Preceding and new generation of artists.; 5. Postmodern art and Czech art.; 6. Influence of European art: German "Neue Wilde" and Italien "Transavanguardia".;7. Forms of the new painting and sculpture, exhibitions "Confrontations".; 8. The Group Tvrdohlaví and his circle.; 9. The 80s and after.
