Course objectives
At the end of the close reading of two plays, i.e. Euridpides Hippolytus and Senecas Phaedra, students should be able to delineate the major differences between Greek and Roman tragedy and both types of Ancient theatre as well.

Studens prepare papers continuously and debate on different topics. Examination has a form of written text devoted to analyse of rewriting of the motif in world drama (Racine, D Annunzio, Jeffers Enquist, Sarah Kane) or in Czech literature (Zeyer).
