Course objectives
Students will be introduce into thought influences which forms memetics. After their acquait with definition of memetics the newest trends and problems of which memetics must face will be present. Emphasis will be put on memetics connection with information, communication and cognitive sciences.
Syllabus
  • 1. Darwinism, sociobiology, theory of selfish gene, biological foundation of information
  • 2. Establishment and subject of memetics, etymology, related subjects
  • 3. imitation, memetic drive, co-memes, memetics terminology
  • 4. Theory of thought contagion, cognitive and behavioral memetics 5. Structural and neuronal genetic information, semasiological and structural socioculture information. Ecological crisis as consequence of divers replicators rivalry
  • 6. Memetics model of mind
  • 7. Memetics and theory of science. Memetics, time and hermeneutics.
  • 8. Ethical horizon of memetics, sociomorph modelling.
  • 9. Memetics view of information science - transport and transfer. Libraries as collections of memes, internet.
  • 10. Spread of rumours and misinformation. Communication in science community. Quotations.
  • 11. Mass manipulation - advertisement, pyramidal systems, public relations.
