- Course objectives
- The objective of the seminar is to discuss morphology and syntax systematically, but with emphasis on practical use of English word and sentence structure, especially as compared to corresponding structures in Czech. The material used in the seminar will be L. G. Alexander's Longman English Grammar (1988) and hand-outs provided in classes. Students will be able to understand the nuances of English grammar and will be able to apply their skills in practice. As a result, they will increase their proficiency in English.

- Practical seminars. Students are expected to do the assigned readings and exercises in advance. Problematic issues will be discussed in class.
- Assessment methods
- Instruction: seminar; active participation is necessary - discussion of issues based on independent reading Assessment: the pass score is 140 points based on one mid-term test (max. 50 points) + end term test (max. 50 points) + combined results from AJ02003 (max. 100 points). The score from the remedial test replaces - if higher - the lower score of either the mid term test or the end term (or the first remedial) test.
