- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to present to students an orientation in guidance and counselling services in the Czech Republic, in the basic theories for leadership of counselling process, and in demands of counselling work. At the end of the course, students know selected counselling theories, students are able to present structure guidance and counselling services, students are able to demands of counselling work and they have learnt the principles of a counselling interview.

- 1. Basic characteristics of counselling and counselling services in the Czech Republic.
- 2. Kinds of counselling and the structure of guidance and counselling services in the Czech Republic
- 3. Characteristics of guidance and couselling services and requirements concerning the quality of services
- 4. Counselling process
- 5. Directive theories of counselling process (especially the cognitive-behavioural theory)
- 6. Non-directive theories of counselling process (especially Roger’s theory)
- 7. Systemic approach in counselling
- 8. Possibilities of leadership of counselling process and subsequent resulting claims for counsellors (qualification of a counsellor, ethics in counselling work, claims stemming from the ways of providing counselling services etc.)
