Course objectives
The aim of this four-semester course of classical Chinese (gudai hanyu) is to offer a systematic introduction into the study of language of Chinese classsical texts and to introduce a basic reading of classics, including the formal and content interpretation of selected texts.
At the end of the course students should be able to:
understand the grammar
analyze and translate simple texts in Classical Chinese
