- Course objectives
- The goal of the seminar is to familiarize the students with the typical inventory from the Stone Age. Examples of finds will be demonstrated in the chronological order to illustrate either the sequence of development or discontinuity of the Stone Age material culture. In the seminars the student will acquire knowledge of both settlement and grave finds through the departmental collections.

- Syllabus 1. Usage of stone in the primeval era; types of raw materials; typology of artefacts in various primeval epochs. 2. Organic materials and their utilisation in the primeval era. Bone and antler industries; examples in the individual primeval epochs or cultures. 3. - 5. Basic content of material culture in the Paleolithic cultures. 6. - 7. Main categories of archaeological artefacts of the Neolithic period. 8. - 9. Main categories of archaeological artefacts of the Late Stone Age.
