Course objectives
At the end of this course the students will be able to write and read in Farsi; to converse on various topics (phrase courtesy, communication at the airport, the bazaar, on a visit, etc.). Can communicate in basic everyday situations. Gets a basic overview of colloquial Persian. They will be able to know and use the grammar.

  • 1. History and culture of Iran 2. Persian and Oriental Studies in the Czech Republic. Persian alphabet 3. Phonetics, accent on transliteration, sentence and word’s stress, sentence structure, negation, question, practice diphthongs 4. Declination I. (categories names, adjectives and demonstrative pronouns; describing adjectives) 5. Declination II. (numerals) 6. Conjugation I. (imperative, past tense; prefixes; auxiliary verbs; irregular verbs) 7. Conjugation II. (active voice in present; past simple; future; present perfect and past perfect) 8. Conjugation III. (present perfect continuous and past perfect continuous) 9. Past perfect passive 10. Adverbs and prepositions 11. Conjunctions 12. Word formation 13. Syntax (direct and indirect objects; conditional sentence) 14. Test
