- Course objectives
- The lecture course is devoted to the history of Czech and Slovak popular music. The course outlines a development of popular music throughout the history with a special emphasis to the distinguishing of serious and popular music spheres during the 19th century and to the tendencies of development of particular genres of Czech and Slovak popular music during the 20th century. The course also investigates various cultural, social and political circumstances as well as transformation of aesthetic criteria.
