Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to understand and explain the fundamental theory of transactional analysis and assertivity. The practically oriented lessons envolve some of communication skills of the students and improve their sensitivity for the positive and manipulative components in the process of interpersonal communication.
Syllabus
  • 1. The communication process in the conception of transactional analysis, basic ego-states
  • 2. The extended conception of ego-states, egograms
  • 3. The individual scenario, drivers
  • 4. The communication transactions
  • 5. The ego-states and the possibility of manipulation
  • 6. Manipulation types and coping in the communication, points of concurrence between the transactional analysis and the assertivity
  • 7. Characteristics of the effective communication, negative components in the process of communication
  • 8. The analysis of life attitudes
  • 9. The contract as a method of individual growth

Education takes place every week to the extent of 2 lessons. An overview of basic theories and practical contact with chosen methods are provided. Lectures, class discussions, practical tasks, group work, video-training

The course is concluded with the colloquium. Admission conditions: 80% participation in lessons at least, a written homework according to submission.
