Prerequisites
Study of primary materials, theoretical texts and historical sources (contemporary art critic, event scenarios).   Orientation in art history from the late 20th century and overview     postwar political history of Central Europe.

Course objectives
Lecture "Wounds and Mysteries: Austrian forms of performance art" is optional lectures upcoming cycle of     the history and theory of action art. Loosely follows the lecture of the fall semester   2014 "Happening and performance art," in which we have acquainted with the developmental predispositions forms of art happenings and performances. The course will introduce students to the history of action   Art   in Austria. It will focus on the origins of which are associated with the formation of   groups Wiener Gruppe, Wiener Aktionisten and Valie Export, Peter Weibel and Otmar Bauer.   In the course there will be lectures by Ao. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Brigitte Marschall   from Theatre Studies University of Vienna (Institut für Theater-, Film- und Medienwissenschaft, Universität Wien).

Teaching methods
Parts of lectures are dedicated frontal teaching, adequate space, however, will be determined in discussion about the discussed topics.
Assessment methods
Students should be involved in discussions at the lectures and work actively in   ELF. Part of the course will be two visiting of our foreign guest, Professor Brigitte Marschall. Participation in these lectures is mandatory, not subject to the possibility of two absences in a semester  . For accession to the   final oral exam is handing analyzes of selected events (5-8 pages) or writing a paper on one of the offered topics   (5-10 minutes). The oral exam will be held separately in the form of a debate on one of the   ten themes, the list of students preformed in its sole discretion under the headings discussed in the lectures  .
