- Course objectives
- Students will master an overview of significant schools of thought, figures, and works of the history of the individual national literatures (Greek, Roman, English, American, German, Scandinavian, French, Russian, and Polish) – from classical antiquity to the Enlightenment (Selective survey of world literature I, autumn 2016) and from the Enlightenment to 1945 (Selective survey of world literature II, spring 2017). The newly acquired knowledge will enhance the students’ understanding of the significance of world literature for the development of Czech literature in the Central European cultural area.

- Teaching methods

- Assessment: A test in the e-learning system. In order to pass, students need to score at least 60% in the test.
