Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to understand and explain the morphology of Latvian participle and postpositional phrases.
This is the last part of the four-semester course of Latvian language, following the courses BA411-3. In the field of grammar, we work with Latvian and postpositional phrases. New conversational themes re added and communication skills in Latvian are developed.
Syllabus
  • In the field of grammar, we work with 1) Latvian active participles, 2) compound tenses, 3) passive participles and 4) postpositional phrases. We also read and listen to some authentic Latvian texts.
  • In the field of vocabulary we deal with 1) means of transport, 2) cultural events, 3) vocabulary of media.
