Course objectives
This course serves for better understanding of popular culture texts and studies. It introduces selected topics and themes of popculture production. Participants can familiarize basic critical ways of thinking about popculture, culture values and everyday aesthetics.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course, the student will be able to:
- identify selected issues in western popculture;
- analyse these issues with main tools of Critical Thinking;
- describe the main changes of cultural values and everyday life caused by pop culture.

Teaching methods
Lectures which requires homework preparation in reading the assigned study literature. After teacher's presentation of the general and particular features of the subject, students are guided to interpretation of the chosen extracts, and class discussions follow
Assessment methods
Reading of selected texts during the semester. For final grade: written test form given literature.
