Course objectives
After the successful completion of the course, students will able to apply main methods and techniques (the electronical databases included) applied to the texts and their interpretation; to describe the contents of study of classical philology with its auxiliary disciplines; be familiar with main scholarly literature and journals; will be informed about the translations of the Classical Greek and Roman Literature and about the history of the field of study.

Teaching methods
Lectures, class discussion.
Assessment methods
1. Oral examination based on topics discussed during semestr (see the e-learning materials). 2. Student chooses and reads at least two translated books of classsical Latin (or Greek) literature and at least one translated book of medieval Latin literature. Discussion aimed at testing student's insight into the selected texts (author, content and nature of the work, information about translator).
