- Course objectives
- Following aspects of the associations of city space with film production and distribution will be discussed: what is the role of the city infrastructure, and how far the space of production can be affected by changing political regimes; what is the relationship between urbanism and film production and distribution; how significant is a loyalty of creative personels to a production centre; how far can film culture be influenced by a size of city space; whether it is possible to compare film culture in different countries and different regimes. Individual seminar seatings will open the respective seminars by presenting the topic in wider context. Collective interpretation of essays from reading list will follow. At the end, students are supposed to propose their own solution how a relevant research question could be answered.
- Learning outcomes
- Students will be familiarized with up-to-date research methods, will learn how to interprete methodological essays and formulate research projects design.
