- Prerequisites
- The course is offered as a priority to students of the first year who experience gaps in their knowledge of pronunciation rules, i.e. orthoepics. Secondarily, students who failed the follow-up Fonetics and French Phenology course in year 2 can apply to the course. In the case of unfulfilled capacity, so do students of other years or disciplines.

- Course objectives
- The aim of the course “Phonetics of French and Correction of Pronunciation” is to explain French pronunciation and its principles and offer hands-on practice of newly acquired knowledge in order to improve the students’ pronunciation.
- Learning outcomes
- Upon completing the course, the student will:
- have an overview of the principles of French pronunciation
- be aware of typical pronunciation errors in the French language
- be able to use the acquired knowledge in practice and eliminate errors in his/her own pronunciation - Syllabus
- Practical exercises aimed at problematic phenomena of French pronunciation such as nasal vowels, front rounded vowels, open and closed vowels, mid-vowels, stress etc.
- Includes explanation of basic pronunciation principles, dictations, practice of tongue-twisters etc.
