The interpretation of poetry; German authors from Prague, F. Kafka, F. Werfel, R. M. Rilke; the politicizing of literature in the Weimar Republic; B. Brecht, great novels by T. Mann, A. Döblin, H. H. Jahnn; historical novel, Austrian literature between 1918-1938, R. Musil, H. Broch, E. Canetti, H. v. Doderer, German authors in exile, literature in the Third Reich, authors from he Sudetenland.

Teaching methods
Lectures and seminar. The seminar is based on methods of presentation, analysis and synthesis of knowledge. It also uses collective work, in-class discussions and individual work of students
Assessment methods
The student hands in an essy with an analysis of one of the topics of the seminar. The sutdent also holds a presentation during the term.
