- Course objectives
- The course focuses on working with Mediaeval documentary material relating largely to Czech Mediaeval diplomatics. Students will become familiar with the methods and limitations of using graphic and stylistic analyses of documents.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- analyse Medieval diplomatic material;
- understand the basic technical and work approaches;
- interpret the content of individual scripts;
- acquire the relevant information from them for historical research. - Syllabus
- The seminar is focused mainly on the reading and the subsequent analysis of documentary material relating largely to Czech Mediaeval diplomatics. The discussion surrounding the documents will focus on developing the fundamentals of graphic and stylistic analyses of documents from various areas of publishing, interpreting problematic data, as well as evaluating the specific circumstances surrounding the provenance of documents.
