- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is the writing of doctoral thesis. Credits are granted for handing in the completed doctoral dissertation accepted by the tutor. TStandard scope of a PhD thesis ranges from 220.000 to 360.000 characters including footnotes, cover sheet, index, content, literature and annotations. Two copies of the doctoral thesis have to be handed in in hardback. Doctoral theses are expected to be handed in during the eighth semester of the studies.
- Learning outcomes
- Student will be able to present his / her knowledge and the results of his / her research work before the commission. The full text of the dissertation thesis has to be uploaded into the Information System of Masaryk University, including Czech and foreign language resume and key words (for instructions, see the methodology of uploading the final theses into the Information System).
- Syllabus
- The syllabus is dependent on the theme of the thesis. Generally, it should consist of:
- background research of the primary and secondary literature;
- elaboration of particular issues;
- elaboration of the structure of the chapters and their major focus;
- footnotes and supplements;
- list of primary and secondary sources and literature.
- Literature
- Literatura je předepsána individuálně podle tématu práce.
- Literature is assigned on an individual basis based on the topic of the thesis.
- Teaching methods
- Consultations with the supervisor; continuous critical evaluation of the text; processing the feedback; writing.
- Assessment methods
- Credit is granted after the submission of the completed doctoral thesis and its acceptance by the supervisor.
