- Course objectives
- The fourth semester oft he course, which aims to provide a basic understanding of Biblical Hebrew, serves to understand the biblical text in view of its correct interpretation. Advanced language knowledge is practiced by translating text, and is then compared with translation into contemporary Hebrew. The part IV introduces the basics of exegesis of biblical text, extends the knowledge of flexion of irregular verbs and concludes the interpretation of Biblical Hebrew syntax. The aim of this course is to deepen and consolidate the already discussed grammatical structures and read more complex narrative and lyrical texts. Equally important is the linguistic and historical and cultural contextualization of the discussed topics.

- Teaching methods
- The course will include an explanation of advanced grammar of Biblical Hebrew, reading and interpretation of literary texts. There will be frequent discussions and group work with translations.
- Assessment methods
- Text preparation for lessons (interpretation, short translations, reading of materials before the lesson etc.), 60% attendance, presentation on a chosen topic.
