- Course objectives
- The course comprises revision and practice through written as well as oral exercises (listening exercises, gap-filling exercises, contrastive exercises, etc). By doing these, the ability of students to argue the solutions to particular spelling issues will be examined.
- Learning outcomes
- The student will deepen their knowledge of the principles of Ukrainian orthography.

- 1. Principles of Ukrainian spelling; prefix spelling
- 2. Apostrophe in Ukrainian and loan words
- 3. Soft sign
- 4. Simplification of consonants
- 5. Euphony
- 6. Alternation of vowels О, Е and І ; Alternation of Е – О after Ж, Ш, Ч, Щ, ДЖ, Й
- 7. Alternation of vowels in verbs
- 8. Alternation of consonants
- 9. Doubling of consonants
- 10. Particle НЕ + verb
- 11. Spelling of И – І
- 12. Capital letters
