Course objectives
Description of the course and its objectives: This course is designed for doctoral students. It covers selected topics in semantics and in the interface between semantics and grammar. The course aims to enlarge the students´ knowledge of semantics, especially in more specialized areas, and to encourage their active approach toward the subject matter. The course is taught in English.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students will be able to: - write a paper on a semantic topic - carry out independent research into semantics - evaluate approaches to a given problem in the literature and form an opinion of one´s own - present a paper at a linguistic conference

Teaching methods
One 1.5 hour seminar, held every other week of the term.
Assessment methods
Seminar attendance is compulsory. Assessment: a research paper dealing with a selected topic in semantics or in the interface between semantics and grammar.
