Course objectives
The goal is to learn what current research in linguistics looks like.
Learning outcomes
- to broaden the knowledge of selected topics within linguistics
- to gain an in-depth understanding of some key concepts in linguistics
Syllabus
  • The main goal of the class is to discuss interesting talks in linguistics depending on students' interests. The class meets every two weeks to discuss an online lecture that the students watch beforehand. I require attendance.
Teaching methods
Watching online linguistics lectures (on your own). Discussing the content (in the class).
Assessment methods
I require attendance in the online class, where we discuss the lecture (which you watch beforehand). The discussions take place every other week. There is no test at the end, attendance is the key requirement.

Teacher's information
At the start of the course, students chose the lectures they want to watch. This is done through voting. After that, we watch the selected lectures (you do this on your own) and we discuss the content in the class.
