- Course objectives
- The aim of this course is to introduce students to the generally neglected compositions of the 20th and 21st centuries, along with deeper probes into works and compositional technologies.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, the student will be: - able to identify and summarize important features of the main approaches to composition of the 20th and 21st centuries - able to determine and describe specific Czech and foreign trends in composition in the selected period - able to know a wider spectrum of authors of artificial music of the chosen period - able to write an essay about the less frequent technologies of composition of the second half of the 20th century - able to compare and highlight the differences in the types of approach to composition of notorious authors and authors discussed in the subject - able to apply knowledge from the subject to other musical works - able to analyze other compositions created in the selected period - able to propose and explain a suitable method of analysis of the chosen work
