Prerequisites (in Czech)

Kurz je prioritně nabízen studentům 1. ročníku, kteří pociťují mezery ve znalosti výslovnostních pravidel, tj. ortoepie. Druhotně se do kurzu mohou hlásit studenti, kteří neuspěli v navazujícím kurzu Fonetika a Fonologie francouzštiny ve 2. ročníku. V případě nenaplněné kapacity pak i studenti jiných ročníků či oborů.

Course objectives

The aim of the course “Phonetics of French and Correction of Pronunciation” is to explain French pronunciation and its principles and offer hands-on practice of newly acquired knowledge in order to improve the students’ pronunciation.

Learning outcomes

Upon completing the course, the student will:
- have an overview of the principles of French pronunciation
- be aware of typical pronunciation errors in the French language
- be able to use the acquired knowledge in practice and eliminate errors in his/her own pronunciation

Syllabus

• Practical exercises aimed at problematic phenomena of French pronunciation such as nasal vowels, front rounded vowels, open and closed vowels etc.
• Includes explanation of basic pronunciation principles, dictations, practice of tongue-twisters etc.
