- Course objectives
- The course focuses on practical knowledge and skills in working with late medieval diplomatic material in terms of palaeography, diplomatics, and the history of administration. The content of the individual seminars will be the reading and interpretation of selected types of Latin sources used in the Czech lands (charters, mandates, letters, official acts and books). Digital reproductions of original documents will be available to students in the study materials in the IS.
- Learning outcomes
- Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- read and understand simple Latin diplomatic sources;
- classify and interpret these texts typologically;
- orient themselves in general terms in late medieval written production. - Syllabus
