Course objectives
Contents, goals and methods of art education as teaching subject. Use of theoretical training in the model lesson of art education and in particular educational and schooling situations.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, a student will be able to:
1.) identify and summarize different concepts of art education and create own concept for future teaching
2.) compare and contrast the differences between different goals, methods and evaluation in art education
3.) explain the role of art education in valid curriculum documents
4.) create a model lesson of art education on given random theme.
Syllabus
  • 1. Concepts of art education, its possible goals and contents. The role of art education in valid curriculum documents. Search for one's own conception and priorities in one's future teaching.
  • 2. Search for one's own understanding of the concept of art. Problems of teaching the history of art. Kitsch and art.
  • 3. Communication with an artwork.
  • 4. Problems of creativity and talent for arts.
  • 5. Overlaps of art education, relations between different subjects.
  • 6. Evaluation in lessons of art education. Reflective dialogues.
