Course objectives
In class, students will learn how China perceives the West. Students will learn about China's traditional image of the world, the concept of Tianxia, as well as the various clashes between the West and China. Greater emphasis is placed on modern history and the present.
Learning outcomes (in Czech)
Student bude po absolvování předmětu schopen:
- identifikovat a shrnout důležité momenty střetávání Číny a Západu;
- kriticky diskutovat nad konceptuálním uchopením termínu Západ vs Číny;
- popsat faktory, jež ovlivnili současné fungování ČLR;
