Předmět je zaměřen tak, aby posluchači získali představu o náplni hydrologie, o měření a pozorování hydrologických prvků a o metodách zpracování naměřených dat. Detailně jsou vysvětlovány hlavní zákonitosti oběhu vody v přírodě s akcentem na jejich antropogenní ovlivnění.
Syllabus
  • Introduction. Importance of water in the landscape. Hydrology as a branch of science, historical outline, organization of hydrological service. Water reserves and circulation on the Earth - fundamental balance relations. Hydrography of rivers - measuring units of runoff, hydrographical characteristics of catchment area, river network and river beds. Hydrology of rivers - regime of rivers and its anthropogenic effect, hydrological forecasts. Subsurface water - its origin, kinds and filling up; regime of finding and observing ground waters; sources. Limnology and hydrobiology of swamps - morphometric characteristic of lakes and reservoirs, water balance of lakes, temperature conditions. Physical and chemical properties of surface and subsurface waters - organic and inorganic contamination of waters. Oceanography - properties of sea water, problems of its pollution; movements of sea water, sea currents.
