Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to undestand the methods of study of the human skeletal remains and primarily the methods of study of the living man.
Learning outcomes
The subject is conceived in several sub-themes and the resulting learning outcomes. Students draw up and submit a report for each topic. The topic of historical anthropology is focused on practical knowledge of the human body bones and the basics of anthropological methods - determination of the sex and age of the individual. Within the next topic, the students describe the anthroposcopic features of the living person of the head and of the body according to standardized patterns and determine the eye and hair color. During the dermatoglyphic, the student learn about palm and fingerprint scanning techniques. On his own prints, they then evaluate the parameters used in forensic dactyloscopy and anthropology. During the anthropometrics course, students measure the standardized body and weight dimensions. Furthermore, these values will be used for the calculation of body indexes and somatotype determination.Students will gain practical and broad knowledge of various sub-areas of anthropology during their course.
