- Course objectives
- Students will gain overview of biosensors, including electrochemical and optical sensors. The experience on sensors based on affinity interactions as surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and piezoelectric transducers will serve for characterization of affinity interactions. The obtained knowledge will help to understand principles of the instrumentation available at the Faculty of Science and CEITEC MU. Students will learn applications of biosensors in clinical analysis, environmental monitoring, food production and security systems.
- Learning outcomes
- Student will learn principles of biocatalytic and affinity biosensors, properties of enzymes, antibodies and cells as biorecognition elements. Student will gain basic knowledge on the immobilization of biomolecules and applications of biosensors in clinical medicine, food industry, military and biotechnologies.
