- Course objectives
- Classification of toponymic types. Word building models of Czech toponyms - geographical names, their chronological validity and geographical stratigraphy. The semantic aspect of toponyms. Typology of geographical nomenclature according to the main language groups. Transcription of foreign names into Czech: transposition, transliteration, transcription. Czech exonyms and their use. Explanation of the origin of Czech and foreign geographical names. Standardization of geographical nomenclature. Motivation of naming and the varibility of names as an integral component of the map work. Toponomastic source material: historical, geographical, cartographical, dialectial.

- 1. Vymezení pojmů onomastika a toponomastika, geografická jména, soustava geografických jmen. 2. Klasifikace toponymických typů v češtině. 3. Sémantická stránka toponym. 4. Standardizace geografických jmen. 5. Kartografické jazyky světa a jejich přepis - transpozice, transliterace a transkripce, exonyma. 6. Grafická stránka popisu na mapách. 7. Toponomastický pramenný materiál historický, geografický, kartografický a nářeční.

- kolokvium ústní zkouškou - prokáže znalosti ze standardizace a přepisu geografických jmen a také znalosti zásad popisu na mapách.
