- Global environmental problems. Environmental chemistry - definitions, basic approaches. Chemicals in the environment - definitions, basic approaches. Environmental harmful chemicals. Environmental fate of chemicals. State of the environment in CR. The behaviour of chemicals in the environment. Environmental interface and chemical equilibrium. Environmental persistence. Fate of chemicals in the environment - transport, transformation. Atmosphere - basic characteristics, air pollution, atmospheric reactions. Hydrosphere, basic characteristics, water and its properties, hydrological cycle. bottom sediments, water pollution - primary, secondary. Pedosphere - basic properties, soil contamination, environmental contamination - examples.

- Global environmental problems. Environmental chemistry - definitions, basic approaches. Chemicals in the environment - definitions, basic approaches. Environmental harmful chemicals. Environmental fate of chemicals. State of the environment in CR. Ecosystems - definition, relationships. Biogeochemical cycles - general aspects, BGCC of carbon, nitrogen, sulphur, phosphor, metals The behaviour of chemicals in the environment. Environmental interface and chemical equilibrium. Environmental persistence. Fate of chemicals in the environment - transport, transformation. Atmosphere - basic characteristics - contents, stratification of temperature, atmospheric pressure, balance of energy, temperature, temperature gradients, atmospheric aerosols - origin, contents, effects Air pollution, atmospheric reactions. Sulphur, nitrogen, carbon, oxygen in air, other types of pollutants. Acidification of the environment. Mechanisms of acidification. Effects of acidification on aquatic and terrestric environment. Effects on human. Smog - photochemical, classical. Air acts, international conventions. Hydrosphere, basic characteristics, water and its properties, hydrological cycle. Bottom sediments, origin, equilibrium water-sediment, sediment surface sorption. Self-purification of water, oxygen ration in water and basins, chemical and biochemical oxygen damage. Water pollution -primary, secondary. Water types - wastewater, atmospheric, ground, surface, drinking. Water pollution - examples. Pedosphere - origin, components, humus, genetic horizons, sorption, sorption capacity, weathering, transport and transformation of chemicals in soils, chemical composition. Soil contamination - examples, primary, secondary, metals, nutrient, organic pollutants. Environmental contamination - examples.
