Course objectives
The course is devoted mainly to the students of Masters program. At the end of the course students should be able to:
understand problems of hydrogeology of mines;
design dewatering system of mine;
determine inflow to mine;
design monitoring system for mine dewatering;
assess impact of mine to groundwater in surrounding aquifer and surface water.
Syllabus
  • Hydrogeological survey for deposits of the raw minerals
  • hydrogeological classification of the deposits of industrial minerals and ores
  • measurement methods in exploration galleries and drainage adits; measurement for ground water regime determining
  • drainage of the deposits of raw minerals; utilizing of the drained ground water
  • impact of mining on the mineral water
  • impact of the waste dump from mining on the ground water
