- Course objectives
- This lecture aims to show analyses of biological data using modern linear methods, mainly General Linear Models and Generalised Linear Models within R. At the end of this course the student should be able to apply appropriate model of univariate statistics to the data.
- Syllabus
- 1) Introduction: Why we use software R? 2) Exploratory data analysis: Data frames. Tables and graphs. Moments. 3) Experimental design: full random, latin squares, replications, control. 4) Statistical modeling. Distributions. 5) Analysis of data from normal distribution. 6) Analysis of data from lognormal and gamma distribution. 7) Analysis of data from Poisson distribution. 8) Analysis of data from negative-binomial distribution. 9) Analysis of data from binomial and binary distribution.

- Teaching methods
- Lectures and homeworks.
- Assessment methods
- The lectures include analysis of examples of biological data. After each lecture students have to make a homework, therefore the attendance of lectures is necessary. The examination is based on the quality of homeworks.
